September 2015: After registration of the first filling of the reservoir dam of Canto de Cagarra, in Santo Antão, was held on 9, 10 and 11 September the inspection and safety tests of the main wall, as well as the gravity supply system tests, and all had a record of indices quite satisfactory.
Although the levels of precipitation are void from the day 1 September (date of first filling), the reservoir dam has continued to register gradual increases that allowed the rise of the water level at 2.30 meters in just 20 days, missing only about 2.0 meters to reach the NPA, height that will allow the beginning of the first flush.
The technical Commission noted with great satisfaction the joy of the dozens of people who visit all of the days the infrastructure, as well as the satisfaction of farmers of the Vale da Garça who saw for the first time to get water to their farms with a remarkable flow level. Remember that with more than 12 kilometers of primary supply network installed, it will be possible the irrigation of over 55 hectares of agricultural land.
